Hair Transplant
What is a hair transplant?
A hair transplant is a surgical procedure where your hair follicles are moved from one area of your head, where they are healthy, and implanted onto balding areas. A hair transplant will help to restore your natural hair line, reducing the effects of ageing.
What types of hair transplant are available?
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
This procedure transplants an area of healthy hair into an area that is thinning, to stimulate hair growth. You will begin to notice results around 3 months after the procedure.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
This procedure requires inserting the healthy hair follicle from the back of the scalp to the thinning areas through small individual incisions, which will leave minimally visible scarring.
Is a hair transplant for you?
Before choosing to have a hair transplant, you need to consider:
- Is your hair thinning significantly?
- Do you feel comfortable sitting through a half-whole day procedure?
- Do you wear your hair longer, or shorter?
- Can you take up to 1 weeks holiday from work?
You should always speak to your surgeon about all of these things in the consultation, before going ahead with the surgery.
Typical cost of a hair transplant
The average cost of a brow lift in the UK is around £7000, however the procedures prices will differ, depending on the extent of hair loss, type of procedure and the clinic you choose.
