Plasma Skin Resurfacing
What is Plasma Skin Resurfacing?
Plasma skin resurfacing tightens and smooths the skin by delivering heat to the targeted area. An ultra-high frequency generator converts nitrogen gas into activated ionised gas, or plasma, which is then targeted to skin cells by a handpiece.
This energy damages the cells, encouraging regeneration and collagen production. The procedure treats early signs of ageing and scarring, tightening the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles while improving overall skin texture.
Recovery of a low energy treatment takes a few days and a higher energy treatment takes up to two weeks. The effects show immediately and continue to show over time, as the skin regenerates, improvements can still occur as long as a year after the treatment.
What types of PSR are available?
Neogen™ is the only device used for the treatment, but different levels of energy are used to treat different conditions. PSR 1 & 2 treat age spots and wrinkles whereas PSR 3 treats skin laxity and contours the skin.
Is PSR for you?
Most people can have the treatment, factors that restrict you from the treatment include having darker skin, severe skin conditions, blood thinning medication or are pregnant.
Typical cost of Plasma Skin Resurfacing
The lower energy, smaller treatments cost £900, with a full face, high energy treatment cost up to £3,300.
