Getting a good quality night’s sleep seems like an impossible task at times.

We all suffer from the occasional night where our brain just won’t switch off, thoughts wiz through our minds and resorting to the desperate pillow flip for some comfort has no effect at all.

The national treasure who turned 60 earlier this year has an extremely soothing voice, which is now being used to help put people to sleep.

Fry has collaborated with Calm, a meditation app, recording a bedtime story to help put you to sleep.

He narrates Blue Gold, a bedtime story designed for adults which will take your racing mind away from past stresses and future worries to the tranquil lavender fields in southern France.

Something only enhanced by the lavender-based sleep mist launched alongside the story. A 100% natural mix of essential oils which also includes chamomile and frankincense to create a relaxing atmosphere for sleep.

“The dreamy combination of storytelling, lavender, chamomile, frankincense and clary sage will make you feel as if you are resting in the world famous lavender fields of Provence” say the makers of the app.

The website boasts the story can put you to sleep in just 24 minutes, an impressive feat for those familiar with the torment of sleepless nights.

“We challenge anyone to stay awake for all 24 minutes of this sleep-inducing masterpiece by Stephen Fry,” writes Calm on their website.

It’s certainly worth a try for those who have trouble sleeping.
