Arm Lift

What is an arm lift?

An arm lift is a surgery that removes excess skin to tighten and tone upper arms. The procedure reduces fat and helps correct sagging skin that cannot be prevented as you age.

What types of arm lift are there?

Upper arm lift
The standard Brachioplasty removes excess sagging skin from the armpit to the elbow. This procedure is very invasive as it removes a medial amount of skin and fat, it is however the most common upper arm lift and provides firmer smoother skin.

Extended Brachioplasty
This procedure is for those with extremely loose skin. The surgery removes the maximum amount of skin through extending the cut from your inner arm, to the armpit and down the chest. This procedure leaves a large visible scar.

Short scar arm lift
The short scar arm lift is best for patients with a minimal amount of loose skin and excess fat. This procedure only requires a small curved incision on the armpit as it doesn’t need to remove as much skin or remove as much fat. The scarring is easily hidden.

Is an arm lift for you?

Before you choose to have an arm lift, you need to consider:

  • Do you have a large amount of loose skin on your upper arm?
  • Can you stop smoking for around 4 weeks?
  • Will you be losing or gaining any weight in the near future?
  • Have you tried to lose weight or change your diet, prior to considering this procedure?
  • Can you take 2 weeks off?
  • Will you have someone to help you after surgery?

You should always speak to your surgeon about all of these things in the consultation, before going ahead with the surgery.
