Laser Hair Removal
What Is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal uses a high-energy beam of light to target the hair, heating up the base of the follicle which damages the cells responsible for hair growth. Although this isn’t proven to be permanent, it is an effective and long lasting way of removing hair, and is proven to permanently reduce hair growth.
The procedure is described as uncomfortable and the effects last up to twelve months before a top up is required.
Is Laser Hair Removal For You?
If you have ginger or fair hair, the response to the treatment is poor and individuals with these hair colours are recommended not to have the treatment. Darker skin colours are not suitable for laser treatment, as this pigmentation will absorb too much of light energy, causing damage. A history of light sensitivity and pregnancy will also compromise your ability to have the treatment.
Typical cost of laser hair removal
Prices vary depending on where and how much of the area needs treating. A small treatment starts at £50 per session and larger treatments can cost up to £500 per session
