What is Dermabrasion?

Surgical scraping that will reduce wrinkles, scars and give skin a smoother more even finish. It is most commonly used for the face, but can be used to treat skin on the rest of the body also.

What types are available?

Dermabrasion
The tool used for this procedure it’s more invasive and will remove more layers of skin than Dermaplaning for and even smoother and even skin surface. Dermabrasion will have a longer healing time for the skin.

Dermaplaning
Using a mildly invasive tool this aims to remove the top layers of skin and smooth it around areas where the skin isn’t even. This technique removes enough skin layers that there is a noticeable reduction in scarring wrinkles and marks on the surface of the skin.

Is Dermabrasion for you?

Before choosing to have Dermabrasion, you need to consider:

  • Do you have any scarring or uneven skin?
  • Have you recently had any kind of skin infection?
  • Are you overly sensitive to the cold?
  • Do you have time to properly care for healing skin?
  • What prescriptions are you taking?
